Performing Kiatsu® on a student
The Purpose of the Kiatsu® Study
The purpose of this pilot study is to investigate the potential benefit to migraine sufferers of Kiatsu with the integrated components of deep breathing meditation, postural correction, and movement training as described above.
The primary endpoint is reduction in the number of migraine attacks in month 6 after a 4-week Kiatsu and integrated relaxation treatment period, and an additional monthly treatment period.
Secondary endpoints are improved in quality of life, as measured by the Migraine-Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire (MSQoL) and decreased use of migraine medications.
The null hypothesis is that a 4-weekly session of Kiatsu with integrated components does not result in a significant reduction in the number of migraines.
